How to spot hail damage on your Tulsa roof

Flat roofs (TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen)

Modified bitumen shows bruising similar to asphalt shingles. The challenge with flat roofs is that ponding water after a storm hides the damage. Gutters and downspouts

Run your hand through the gutter trough. After a hail event, you will find a thick layer of granules, the ceramic coating stripped off your shingles. Check the gutters themselves for dents. Aluminum gutters dent easily. The denting pattern tells you the hail size and direction.

Siding

Vinyl siding cracks on impact. Look for hairline fractures, especially on west-facing and south-facing walls. Wood siding chips. Fiber cement siding shows circular impact marks similar to shingles. If your siding took hits, your roof took hits. Siding is just the evidence you can see at eye level.

AC condenser unit

Window screens and frames
