How We Assess and Apply Roof Coatings
Moisture Survey and Assessment
We walk the roof with an infrared or nuclear moisture meter to locate any trapped moisture in the insulation below. Coating over wet insulation locks in a problem. Any wet areas are documented and discussed before we proceed. If moisture is present, we core sample and determine the repair scope.
Surface Preparation
Coating adhesion lives or dies on surface prep. We pressure-wash, clean, and dry the entire roof surface. Failed seams and blisters are opened, dried, repaired with reinforcing fabric and mastic, and allowed to cure. Rust on metal surfaces is treated with a primer before the base coat. No shortcuts — a coating applied over contamination peels within a year.
Detail Coat at Penetrations
